All Proceeds from the Eden Wool Gathering is donated to the Stranraer Cancer Drop in Centre Association. The Charity was originally created to supply information and support for people with cancer, their carers, friends and relations - in fact anyone touched by cancer and other serious illnesses.
Regular meetings for these people were held by Irene Hunter, a district nurse who recognised and responded to need.

How We Use Donations
OPERATING OUR CENTRES
Our centre does require funding to operate. It is the heart of our support function and provides a unique meeting place for our clients.
SERVICES AND THERAPIES
We organise regular therapy sessions and provide a range of services, each of which requires funding. Many of those involved in these activities are specialists.
OCCASIONAL ACTIVITIES
From time to time we organise ‘one off’ events to provide very specialised support or activity for our clients. Often these events will be funded specifically by an individual fundraising activity.
