Wendy Erskine with her sheep Jade

Hi, I’m Wendy Erskine

the maker behind Eden Textiles, working with natural fibre from my own flock in Galloway. My work celebrates the journey from sheep to finished piece, using hand-prepared fleece, hand spinning, felting and weaving to create one-of-a-kind textiles inspired by the landscape around me.

After being diagnosed with cancer, working with fibre became an important part of my recovery. The rhythm of preparing wool, the calm of felting, and the connection to my sheep helped me through treatment and beyond. I have also found invaluable support at the Stranraer Cancer Drop-In Centre, whose kindness and community played a huge role in my journey.

I created the Eden Wool Gathering from that experience — bringing people together through wool, creativity and community.

I will also be exhibiting my own work at the gathering, showcasing pieces made from my fibre flock, alongside demonstrations and opportunities to learn about working with fleece from raw wool to finished textile.

I am over the moon to be putting on such a special event and I am proud to support young shepherds and shepherds, giving them a platform to share their sheep, wool and knowledge with a wider audience.

All proceeds from the Eden Wool Gathering will again go to the Stranraer Cancer Drop-In Centre, helping support others in the local community.
