Fibreshed Scotland unites producers, makers and artisans to build a regenerative textile economy in Scotland, based on a soil to soil cycle. We contribute to economic transformation since the globalised textile industry is inimical to the health and well-being of so many of those involved in it, from producers to consumers. We explore the viability of alternative, equitable and regenerative approaches to fibre production and processing to meet clothing and textile needs, through discussion and our own individual initiatives and enterprises.

Our team is made up entirely of volunteers, working collaboratively to our individual and collective strengths as we plan and carry out activities. We aim to be as inclusive as possible, recognising that we are all moving towards regenerative practices in different ways and paces according to the opportunities we have.

Our activities currently include speaker meetings, periodic newsletters and whatsapp chats and instagram posts (for sharing information and ideas), outreach activities and workshops.

Fibreshed Scotland is one of five Fibresheds across the UK and is part of the international Fibershed Movement
